Dia del Pavo 2007

For Thanksgiving this year, Kev and I ventured to Brazil and Argentina! My dad is on a 6 month assignment with his job in Buenos Aires, Argentina and he invited us to join him for the Thanksgiving holiday. Not only did he invite us but he invited my grandma and poppi from New York also. After a long plane ride we arrived in Buenos Aires on Wednesday morning around 10:00 am and went on a tour of the city, followed by a late night dinner with my cousins from my mom's side of the family. It was so good to see all of them after 8 years! We spent the week sight-seeing, shopping, going to a Tango show and by the time we were getting settled, it was time to fly out to Florianopolis, Brazil. Although Buenos Aires was very cold while we were there, the weather in Brazil was hot and beautiful. Dad rented a beach house for the few days we would be there for grandma, pops, Kevin and I. Again, we played around on the beach, went sight-seeing, ate good food, and visited with family. It was a wonderful holiday and the trip was such a blessing to us! Thanks Dad! More pictures to come!
This was a really neat nativity scene we found in downtown Florianopolis. I think I'm covering baby Jesus's head but the sign in the back says "Peace on Earth" in Portuguese.

EBC's Fall Festival

Last night we celebrated Halloween by having a Fall Festival at Clinton Park (a park almost across the street from our neighborhood). There were a ton of booths, inflatables and food! It was alot of work and Kev was at church from 6:45 am until 11:00 pm last night. I know he is ready for a relaxing weekend as he mailed off his papers for his DMin this week and spent Monday and Tuesday out of town at a Youth conference. I'm proud of all his hard work!

A Bundle of Crazy Energy - that's all I have to say about these three! I love them!

We Have A New Friend

Kev told me he had two options. He could throw it away or throw it on me.
I'm sure glad he chose the first option.

Hephzibah Middle School Retreat

Last weekend Kev and I went to NC to Wendell for Hephzibah's middle school retreat. Kev was a recreation minister there while in seminary and they asked him to come back and speak for the retreat. Of course I was excited when I found out I would be able to go with them and then had an It was a great time of visiting with old friends and a great get-a-way for the teenagers. The retreat was held at Fort Caswell in Oak Island, North Carolina. The theme was Bedrock Faith and we had a great time of worship and fellowship.

I was able to take Monday off of work so it allowed for us to stay for Sunday night church (which ended up being a business mtg - blah) and have S.N.A.C. with some friends. Monday we visited with the Overman's and we had fun playing with their youngest, Mia - she's a mess as you can see below. The weekend was a blessing to us and we we very tired once we got home!
