3 Years

The Beauty of Marriage
How beautiful, then, the marriage of two Christians, two who are one in hope, one in desire, one in the way of life they follow, one in the religion they practice. They are as brother and sister, both servants of the same Master. Nothing divides them, either in flesh or in spirit. They are, in very truth, two in one flesh; and where there is but one flesh there is also but one spirit. They pray together, they worship together, they fast together; instructing one another, encouraging one another, strengthening one another. Side by side they visit God’s church and partake of God’s Banquet; side by side they face difficulties and persecution, share their consolations. They have no secrets from one another; they never shun each other’s company; they never bring sorrow to each other’s hearts.
Tertullian (Reformer), Unknown

Kev and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary yesterday! I awoke to coffee, flowers and a new camera (although the picture below is from our old one)! Three years ago I was working at Pack Rat, Kev was on staff at Hephzibah as their Rec Minister and we had no clue the next three years would include ministries in both Charlotte and Atlanta. I really like Tertullian's quote above and as I read it, I was reminded of God's goodness towards me as He has given me a precious, God-fearing husband whom I love so very much! Our evening was spent with some of our high school youth at our weekly Bible Study at the Martin's. We had yummy taco soup for dinner and tons of cookies/coffee for dessert. It was a blessing!

Weekend in Tennessee

We had a great weekend in Tennessee spending time with Kev's family and going to Jason and Teia's wedding! Teia went to the same church as Kevin in Lenoir City (back in the day) and Jason was in the youth group where Kev was an intern while he was in school at Tennesee Tech. I hate my pictures turned out so terrible..hopefully I'll be able to snag a few better ones from someone else. Kevin did a great job officiating the wedding...it was truly a time of worship. It was a privilege to meet all of Kevin's friends from Cookeville and to spend time with TJ and Casey. We have been spoiled by seeing them twice in the last two months!

Casey is so beautiful...Kev and I can't wait until Will gets here! Kev can't wait to tell little Will all the trouble him and his daddy used to get into back in the college days :)

Pool Party

Saturday some of the middle and high school girls came over to go swimming. It was a beautiful day in the mid 80's, low humidity - perfecto for a pool party. We had lots of fun being goofy, playing tricks on Kevin and eating yummy snacks! Kev had a meeting at church and didn't join us at the house until after 5:00 that afternoon. It was a great day of fellowship and I'm so grateful for the sweet girls we have in our youth group!

Can you hear me now????

The youth make fun of Kev and I because we have such old phones. One actually thought my cell phone was my house phone. Hey!? It works and until it dies, I'll keep my brick!

This is Kev telling the girls how he is not thrilled about the power wheels and floaties sitting in his shower. It's kind of an inside joke between Madison, Callie and Kev. They have been helping him find tools for his Kevin "Awesome" Andrew Wilson method of evangelism.

Alexander Football Game

Friday night we spent the evening at the Alexander High School Football Game and supported our youth who play football and cheer. Me being the football guru played close attention to every play! Can't you tell? The cheerleading pics say it all. We had alot of fun but didn't get home until very late - I woke up Saturday morning feeling old!

Back Again

I can't believe we have lived in Georgia for almost 6 months. Well, Kev has and I'm rounding the 5 month mark. Now that our life has slowed down a tiny bit, I decided to blog again and update our friends on our new here. Although it all seems like a whirlwind, I'll try my best to update. Below are a few pictures that could maybe sum up the last few months.

While I was wrapping up all the details with our move, saying good bye to friends, and wrapping things up at the Y, Kev was getting acclamated to our new life in Georgia. After visiting grandparents and family in New York and moving everything into storage, I joined Kev down in Winston in early May. My first few weeks were filled with getting to know our youth and heading to Hilton Head to check out where our summer mission trip would be.

June began with a week back in North Carolina for Centrifuge at Ridgecrest Conference Center. While I was at Centrifuge an old friend from NAMB/World Changers called and offered me a two month contract job working from home. It was data entry but was perfect as I could still continue with my upcoming mission trip and beach trip, etc. Kev came home from Fuge, had Vacation Bible School the next week and then left for Southern Seminary where he had his classes for his DMin. I stayed back in GA and spent most of my time getting everything done for my WC project and prepared for my mission trip to Jamaica.

The second week in July we had a team of 35ish from our church head to Jamaica for a mission trip. It was such an awesome trip and it gave me time to get to know some church members and make new friends. After Jamaica, I ventured to Pawley's Island and enjoyed the beach for a few days with Molly and then back to Raleigh (with Molly) to see mom, dad and my grandmother. I was blessed yet again that while I was at the beach I was offered a job with Silver Creek Communities. No more job worries now - God just worked all that out!

Since school has started back for the youth, Kev and I have a small group bible study that meets on Tuesday nights and has been such a blessing to both of us. We love studying the Bible with our kids and are so encouraged by the ones who want to grow deeper in their faith. We were able to take a beach trip to Florida over Labor Day with some of our new friends from church. You can see some pics from there below.

We have loved the opportunity God has given us in Georgia and are enjoying every minute at our new church. We praise him for his many blessings and pray we will always be mindful of how he has allowed us to be a part of his kingdom.
